As the holidays approach numerous Cedar Creek Lake charitable organizations and businesses are launching food drives, but Northland Communications is offering an incentive to encourage customers to contribute food for distribution to the needy.
Northland, which provides phone, Internet and television cable services in Texas and several other states, is offering free installation to new customers who contribute at least 15 non-perishable food items for distribution by Cedar Creek Lake's food bank. Existing Northland customers who upgrade service will also receive free installation for their new products.
Northland serves both residential and business customers.
The company will collect the food donations at its interactive showroom at 1708 W. Main St. in the Sears Shopping Center in Gun Barrel City. The food drives runs Nov. 1-16.
Northland, which is headquartered in Seattle, Wash., is a major communications provider that owns and manages smaller-market cable systems in Alabama, California, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina and Washington in addition to Texas.
