Cedar Creek Brewery in Seven Points just keeps innovating and growing its business as it enters a third year of operation.
The brewery that has turned into a weekend hotspot for socializing and live entertainment in the beer garden, now announces that it will be selling packaged products directly to the public.
Owner Jim Elliott has announced the brewery will begin selling his popular beers in four-packs. It plans to add refillable "Party Pigs" soon, he added.
The operation change was made possible by the Texas Legislature approving the sale in 2013 of beers by breweries on site. Previously, visitors to breweries could only offer a paid tour that allowed a souvenir glass and free beer samples.
In the last year, Cedar Creek Brewery opened the beer garden and the climate-controlled taproom to its services creating a popular hangout for locals and weekenders.
Elliot decided to switch to the new brewpub license this year because so many customers wanted to buy products to take home, he said.
"This licensing change allows us to sell beer to go directly from our brewery," Elliott said. "This makes it so much more convenient for customers. And with margins being tight in some markets, this certainly does help our bottom line."
The brewery's beers are also sold in local grocery stores, liquor stores and some restaurants.
The brewery's heated and cooled taproom is open weekends, with free brewery tours at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. every Saturday.
